Genuine Hitched Horsehair Belt

Made with real horsehair and each belt can take up to 2 weeks to produce.

The hair undergoes a meticulous process starting with gathering into a "hank," then cleaning and sorting. Next, the raw hair, some dyed with natural pigments, is separated and twisted into "hair-pulls" by skilled weavers. Using a technique called "hitching" with horsehair, stitches resembling half-hitch knots are meticulously arranged in concentric patterns on a wooden or wire dowel, forming the intricate geometric designs seen in our belts. Each ½" - 1" length of belt takes approximately one hour to hitch, translating to one or two weeks for completion due to the meticulous craftsmanship involved, making it a highly time-intensive process.

Return Policy

Items that are unwashed, unaltered and unworn carrying the original tags can be returned within 14 days of fulfillment for a refund or exchange. Clearance and discounted items are not eligible for returns.

For International orders, when shipping your return, please ensure that the description of goods states: “Goods returning to Canada.”
