Wei's has been outfitting western families since 1949. Until now, the littlest members of the family had to wait their turn. Not anymore.
Shea Baby is western clothing for kids, built by a family that actually lives the life. The brand started with handcrafted leather baby boots and has grown into full collections from infant through youth size 14. We had a conversation with founder Shea Fisher Durfey, wife of World Champion rodeo athlete Tyson Durfey and mother of three, to get the story behind the brand, in her own words.
What inspired you to create Shea Baby, and what gap in the baby clothing market were you filling?
"Shea Baby was inspired by my own experience as a mother, cowgirl and designer. After having my children, I wanted to find baby boots and western clothing that were comfortable, stylish, well-made, and still affordable for growing families. I felt there was a gap in the market for children's western wear that was truly designed with both parents and little ones in mind. I wanted to create products that allowed children to move, play and grow comfortably while still looking unique and unmistakably western."
How would you describe the Shea Baby brand in three words, and what makes your products special for western-loving families?
"Authentic, stylish and family-focused."
"Shea Baby is special because the brand is rooted in a real Western family and lifestyle. My husband, World Champion rodeo athlete Tyson Durfey, and I are raising our three children around horses, ranching, rodeo and country music. Our products are designed for families who genuinely live and love the western lifestyle. We combine western-inspired prints and details with comfort, quality and practical designs that children can actually wear every day."
Do you have a bestseller or hero product you'd want new customers to discover first?
"Our original Shea Baby leather boots are the product that started it all and remain one of the most special parts of the brand. They are handcrafted using soft, natural leather and were created to be comfortable, flexible and stylish for growing feet. We now offer baby and toddler boot sizes, making them a wonderful first introduction to Shea Baby. Our western clothing collections have also become customer favorites, especially our coordinated prints and styles that allow siblings to match."

What values guide how you run your brand?
"Family, quality, affordability and authenticity guide everything we do. As a mother, it is important to me that our products are comfortable, practical and made for real children. Kids grow quickly and live active lives, so families need clothing and footwear that look beautiful, hold up well and remain accessible. We also value strong relationships with our customers, retailers and manufacturing partners, and we are committed to creating products we would proudly put on our own children."
Is there anything about your brand you wish more people knew?
"I would love more people to know how personal Shea Baby truly is. This is not simply a children's brand inspired by western fashion, it was built from our family's real life. Many of the ideas, prints and products are inspired by my children, our ranch, rodeo life and the western community around us. I am personally involved in designing the collections and developing products that I believe families will genuinely enjoy."
