Your CFR 2026 Style Guide: Five Nights, Five Looks
The Canadian Finals Rodeo is the last stop on the Canadian pro rodeo calendar, the week the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association crowns its national champions across events like bareback riding, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. It's the biggest week on the Canadian western calendar, and for 2026 it runs October 7-10 at Rogers Place in Edmonton. If you're used to catching it at Westerner Park, note the move: CFR called Red Deer home from 2018 through 2023, but it's back in Edmonton this year, so plan the drive accordingly.
Four nights, ten performances, and a tradition that's as much a fixture as the rodeo itself: theme nights. Every performance has its own dress code, and the concourse takes it seriously. If you've been before, you know showing up in whatever you grabbed off the hanger isn't really an option once you're standing next to someone in full Retro Night regalia. We've been dressing western for three generations, so before you're staring into your closet the morning of trying to figure out what "Heritage Night" actually means, we pulled together five complete looks, head to toe, straight off our own CFR lookbook, shot on our team, styled exactly the way we'd wear it into Rogers Place ourselves.

Heritage Night
Play it classic without playing it safe. A wide-brim Charlie 1 Horse hat sets the tone, a fringed suede mini dress does the talking, and tall Ariat Antonia boots bring the embroidered detail that photographs as well under arena lights as it does for the crowd shots after. This is the look for the opening-night crowd who still wants an edge on tradition.
Retro Night
Borrow from the 70s: warm, earthy tones and a fitted retro-inspired dress that doesn't need much else to work. Knee-high Ariat Casanova boots in tan carry the whole look on their own, so keep the bag small with a structured Montana West crossbody built for moving fast between the concourse and your seat. The layered turquoise necklace from the shoot isn't listed online yet, so this is the one piece worth seeing in person.
Canadian Night
Red and black, done properly. Layer a Cruel Denim red spur-print vest over a crisp white shirt, add Wrangler Bespoke Savannah trousers, and finish in Justin red boots that match the vest exactly. The same Montana West bag from Retro Night works here too, no need to buy two just because the outfit changed.
Family Night
The most wearable night of the five, and the easiest to get real use out of once CFR is over. A Wrangler denim sherpa jacket over Kimes Ranch Lola Soho flares and Ariat Dixon booties takes you from the stands to the parking lot to brunch the next morning without a second thought. If you're bringing kids, this is the night to dress down without looking like you gave up.
Championship Night
Save the statement piece for the finals. An Ariat sequin blazer goes over black Wrangler Bespoke flares, a Tony Lama belt anchors the waist, and the Ariat Dixon boots from Family Night close it out. A good bootie earns its keep across more than one outfit, and Championship Night, the last and biggest night of the week, is exactly where that pays off.
